Hi, I’m Jeff Wood.
Not that I expect you to know me, unless you happen to be a friend of mine that’s visiting me. I’m into BBQ, Cars and Computers.
I like good BBQ, the kind you get from a hot-smoker, also called a pit or pit-smoker. Grilling, or what most folks call BBQ out west is good, and I have a grill for the steaks and other stuff. But BBQ is different. I prefer my BBQ unsauced, having spent time in Texas, where the flavors of the smoke and the meat are supposed to be the stars of the meal. And when you let the smoke out of your BBQ, ie: open the lid all the time, it doesn’t taste as good.
I own 2 1964 Triumph Spitfires; the blue Spitfire in the header graphics is one of them. Anyone that owns a British car knows all about Lucas, Prince of Darkness. Lucas was the company that made the electrical systems for most if not all British cars and motorcycles back when the Brits were exporting such things. Lucas electrics have a perhaps undeserved reputation for not working well, and for spontaneously “letting the smoke out” of a wiring harness.
I’m also a computer enthusiast. I was at one time an active computer professional, in the areas of programming, system building and networking. I like pushing my hardware, and have let the smoke out of a few components. Computers run on Magic Smoke, and when you let the smoke out, the magic they run on is gone.
Other non-smoky things I enjoy are anime, manga, R/C cars and boats, working in my (still in the building stage) shop and making things.
Enjoy the blog. It might stray from time to time into other territory, but I think you’ll find some good info here from time to time.
